FAQs

When will you have new work available?

The best way to find out about new paintings is by signing up for my newsletter. I release all paintings to my newsletter subscribers first before releasing them on my website 24 hours later. My newsletters also include progress shots and inspiration. You will receive, at most, 5 emails a year. Click here to sign up.

How do I buy an original?

You will purchase paintings through my website. If you receive an email with paintings not yet on my site, there will be a link to purchase them through the email.

Are originals protected?

All original paintings are coated with an archival varnish spray that includes UV protection.

What if I like a painting, but the size doesn’t work?

I am always happy to do custom work! If you would like a custom painting based off of something I have previously done (not your own photo), I can help come up with something that will fit your request.

When and how do you ship paintings?

All paintings will ship within 5-7 business days, unless otherwise discussed.  You will be charged between $10-$75 for shipping upon the purchase of your painting. This charge covers all shipping materials and fees. There will be no additional cost for shipping after you check out.

All artwork is placed in an acid free, archival safe bag, wrapped in paper, padded extremely well with corners, bubble wrapped, and sent in a sturdy cardboard box. All paintings being shipped will come with shipping insurance provided by Emily Ann Hughes Art. Most artwork is shipped FedEx, UPS or USPS. The buyer will receive a tracking number via email.

Do you accept commissions?

Yes! I accept just a few commissions a year. Please click here to read more about this process.

Do you offer frames?

I do not. I recommend finding a specialty frame shop near you. For those living in Charleston, I highly recommend Havens Fine Framing in Mt. Pleasant.

Do you offer returns or exchanges?

All paintings and prints are final sales unless the item is damaged in shipping (proof of damage must be documented).

Policies and rights to artwork:

SC costumers will be charged sales tax at checkout.

Commission deposits are non-refundable.

I retain all rights to all artwork I create.  This includes the rights to the image of sold and commissioned original paintings. I retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artwork I create unless the Collector has purchased the full or partial rights to the artwork (this is in addition to purchasing the original)

The collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission.

If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media, I ask for credit.

When you purchase an original painting, you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.

Do you offer prints?

Not currently. I have decided to focus all my energy on originals right now, but hope to offer prints again in the future.

When will I receive my print order? Will it be signed and editioned?

Print orders ship within 5-7 business days. All prints are limited edition and will have my signature and edition number.
